ABOUT THE COURSE :
This course will be a first level course on electric vehicle. Students will be able to understand the operation of battery driven electric vehicle. The course will start with introduction section which will enable the students to understand the focus areas that come under the umbrella of electric vehicles. Then the course will start covering this focus areas one by one such as vehicle dynamics, Motors, Power Electronics, PWM, Control etc. The most important part of this course will be that each topic will bean analyzed and demonstrated through Matlab Simulink, so that the grip of the subject will be strong and the knowledge acquired will be useable in real time applications.

Prof. Amit Jain

IIT Delhi
Amit Kumar Jain is presently working as Associate Professor in Department of ElectricalEngineering, IIT Delhi. He is done his Ph.D and M.S from Department of ElectricalEngineering, I.I.Sc, Bangalore and spend around two years in General Electric GlobalResearch Center before joining IIT Delhi in 2012. He expertise includes electric drives forrenewable and electric vehicle application. He has also started a course on ElectricVehicles in IIT Delhi which is now been converted to NPTEL video course.


Prof. Avanish Tripathi

Prof. Avanish received his B.Tech. degree in Electrical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology (BHU), Varanasi in 2009. He was awarded M.S. and PhD degrees from Department of Electrical Engineering, IISc Bangalore in 2017. MS and PhD works were focused on Low Switching Frequency Pulse Width Modulation for high-power and/or high-speed induction motor drives. Dr. Avanish has gained industry experience in Indian Oil Corporation (2009-2011), Delta Electronics, Bangalore (2017- 2019) & Texas Instruments, Bangalore (2019-2020). He has also served as Assistant Professor in Department of Electrical Engineering, IIT Roorkee (2020-2022). Currently, he is part of Department of Energy Science and Engineering, IIT Delhi as Assistant Professor since October’2022. His research interests include power electronics, electric transportation, electric vehicle charging infrastructure, wind & solar power generation, multi-motor drives, high-power & high-speed motor drives, pulse width modulation techniques, modelling & control of power converters, power converter technologies, grid connected converters and low switching frequency operation & control.

Course certificate

The course is free to enroll and learn from. But if you want a certificate, you have to register and write the proctored exam conducted by us in person at any of the designated exam centres.
The exam is optional for a fee of Rs 1000/- (Rupees one thousand only).
Date and Time of Exams: 
23 March 2024 Morning session 9am to 12 noon; Afternoon Session 2pm to 5pm.

The online registration form has to be filled and the certification exam fee needs to be paid. More details will be made available when the exam registration form is published. If there are any changes, it will be mentioned then.

CRITERIA TO GET A CERTIFICATE

Average assignment score = 25% of average of best 6 assignments out of the total 8 assignments given in the course.
Exam score = 75% of the proctored certification exam score out of 100

Final score = Average assignment score + Exam score

YOU WILL BE ELIGIBLE FOR A CERTIFICATE ONLY IF AVERAGE ASSIGNMENT SCORE >=10/25 AND EXAM SCORE >= 30/75. If one of the 2 criteria is not met, you will not get the certificate even if the Final score >= 40/100.

Certificate will have your name, photograph and the score in the final exam with the breakup.It will have the logos of NPTEL and IIT Madras .It will be e-verifiable at nptel.ac.in/noc.

Only the e-certificate will be made available. Hard copies will not be dispatched.
